Absolutely. You can upload photos directly from your computer using the upload interface. You can also you use your mobile device to email a photo to your flick.
Pictures are stored on a secure server and are displayed via Flash to prevent people from being able to download your photos. Every attempt is made to keep user data safe on Flickaday.com. However, as a general rule, anything you don't want to end up in someone else's hands you should keep off of the internet. It should be noted that we are almost constantly making security updates so you can feel more comfortable with every picture.
We do have an facebook application and are always looking to integrate our service with more third party software platforms. The Facebook application allows you to take your photo and view your friends daily photos. However, many features that are available on flickaday.com are not available on Facebook (we need to give you some reason to visit us once in a while) Click here to install the facebook app
Yes. You can email your photo via a mobile phone. You need to specify the email address your mobile phone uses to send data. We believe simply sending an email with your picture to sms@flickaday.com will be much easier then navigating to http://mobile.flickaday.com and entering a your information through that interface. Thus, http://mobile.flickaday.com no longer exists.

Click on the giant signup button on the home page and enter your email address and choose a password. If you'd like you can leave some other information with us as well. This information will be used in the future to aggregate more information about your day. For example if we know your zipcode we can tell you what the weather was like when took the picture.
Access the settings section by clicking on the "don't see yourself" button. Make sure you have allowed Flickaday to access your camera within the settings section. Be sure to click "remember" settings. Also make sure you have selected the correct camera type. Apple iSight's are considered "USB video class video". If you're not sure what type yours is, consult your user manual, or simply cycle through the choices in the settings section.
The song needs to be in mp3 format and you need to own the rights to the song or have permission to use it. So unless you've got written consent from Robert Plant; Please No Stairway to Heaven.
Flickaday accesses the CDDB tags on the mp3. If the name is showing up incorrectly it's probably because it's tagged incorrectly. You can change the tags in iTunes and try uploading again.
You can have a number of privacy settings which can make your Flickaday widget public or private. Again navigate to your preferences and edit your privacy settings.
You can edit your reminder preferences under preferences > notifications. We will send an email to you a couple minutes before the time you chose
Yes your data is backed up daily. However, if you would like to take that a step further you can download an archive of you data.
