The basic idea behind flickaday.com is that you visit the site and take a picture of yourself once a day in an effort to better understand how you evolve over the years. It is our belief that in a hyper connected world we sometimes lose site of who we are, flickaday.com aims to help you be more introspective. If you would like to share yourself with the rest of the world you can embed the flash widget on the left. However, this decision is entirely up to you. We think our vision of the future is a powerful one. Stick around to see how we evolve, we promise it will be worth your while.

Design overhaul

• As you can see your entire user interface has been changed
• Easier navigation as a result
• Enhanced picture taker and uploader. You can now put a delay on the picture allowing you to set up across the room.
• Custom metric tracking to help you gain even more insite into your life.
• Improved flickaday player. Includes an equalizer for music and much faster load time for pictures.
• Way more privacy and preference settings
• Email interface: under preferences you can set an email address that you would like to allow to send pics to your flick. Then using any device with email support, including mobile phones, you can simply email sms@flickaday.com with subject equal to your mood and your picture as an attachment. Within 10 minutes or so your picture will be added to your flick

Behind the scenes

• Timezone support. For the longest time if you were from California you could not take your picture past 8pm. Well no longer. We are using your system clock on your local machine to determine your timezone so after you take just one more picture we will know you timezone.
• Pictures are now being stored at 640 x 480 pixels. (hi-res movies coming soon)

• Rss feeds all over the place helping you to consume the flickaday service however you wish
• Beginning to use the Zend Framework. Might as well stand on the shoulders of giants.
